HEARTRATE ANALYSIS

Knowing your horse's basic heart rate at rest, walk, trot and canter provides a lot of information about the general fitness of your horse. It can also help you determine whether any additional training or other training methods may be required. Finally, heart rate measurements also provide information about stress, whether this is environmental stress or internal stress due to pain or discomfort.

The expert eye can detect lameness fairly accurately but what if we could detect it earlier? Even before the human eye can detect any changes? Or what if we are unsure where exactly the lameness is originating? 

 

Using inertial sensors we can now precisely measure, register, compare and analyze equine movement.

THERMOGRAPHY

Thermography is a quantitative assessment of temperatures, in this case the body heat emitted by the horse. The infrared camera measures the temperatures and provides a thermal image where the different temperatures are displayed with different colors based on a specific scale. A warm spot indicates inflammation or increased blood flow. Cold spots indicate reduced blood flow and are usually the result of swelling, compression, thrombosis or scarring.

LASER TREATMENT

A Class IV laser is used to accelerate healing and improve the repair, regeneration and remodeling of tissue in the horse. Some benefits of laser therapy are decreased pain, increased wound healing, decreased inflammation, increased tensile strength of tendon/ligament and a return to function.

Research has shown that healing is of better quality and accelarated using laser therapy... 

Hirudotherapy

Hirudotherapy is a treatment using medicinal leeches.  The saliva of the  leeches, contains more than 100 bioactive substances with various therapeutic effects, including anti-inflammatory and anaesthetic properties. 
Amongst other this treatment can be used for treating arthritis, laminitis, navicular syndromes, ligament and tendon damage.
