Optimise Your Riding Performance & Seat

The horse is our mirror. A straight, balanced horse needs a straight, symmetrical and balanced rider. A body-aware rider with control over their muscles and aids will produce a horse that is a joy to ride. That is the heart of the Fit2Ride method.

The Seven Pillars of Rider Fitness
Riding is a sport that makes serious demands on the body. Fit2Ride analyses and trains seven physical elements that together form the foundation of an independent, stable and harmonious seat:

-
Natural Posture — Everything begins with a good starting position. We evaluate your natural seat and the mobility of your pelvis and spine, ensuring your body is in alignment before you even put your foot in the stirrup.
-
Flexibility — Restricted joint mobility or overly tense muscles prevent an optimal seat. Certain muscles in riders have a tendency to shorten over time, which can lead to pain, fatigue or cramping during unexpected movements from the horse. Targeted stretching keeps your body supple and responsive.
-
Stability — Core stability is the key to an independent seat. It is about the right level of tension in the trunk and upper legs — relaxed yet engaged — so that you remain stable without compromising movement or breathing.
-
Strength — Horses with powerful, expansive movement can pull a rider out of position when balance is lost. Sufficient abdominal and back strength is essential for recovering balance without resorting to the reins. A strong muscular corset also remains the best protection against most back injuries.
-
Proprioception — Body awareness — knowing what your body is doing in space — is a cornerstone of effective riding. We train your ability to feel your own position so that you can send subtle signals to your horse without unnecessary tension.
-
Control — An independent seat begins with control over the core. You learn to move one part of your body independently of another — the essential prerequisite for refined aids and harmonious communication with your horse.
-
Balance — Too much muscle tension restricts breathing and suppleness; too little reduces stability. Fit2Ride guides you towards that ideal equilibrium, complemented by specific balance exercises, symmetry training and learning to absorb your horse's movement through your upper body.

The Fit2Ride Journey in 4 Steps

Fit2Ride works through a structured four-step programme, tailored entirely to you as an individual rider.
-
Step 1 — Analysis & Diagnosis The journey begins with a thorough analysis of all seven physical elements. Your posture, flexibility, muscle tension, control, strength, stability and balance are all mapped out, providing an objective foundation for everything that follows.
-
Step 2 — Personalised Exercise Plan Based on the analysis data, a tailored training plan is created — with specific exercises targeting each of the seven elements. The programme is built to be safe and efficient, with carefully varied intensity and frequency to prevent overloading. If you are ever unsure about the correct execution of an exercise, an extensive video library is available to guide you. Ground training typically consists of around four sessions in preparation for ridden work.
-
Step 3 — The Fit2Ride Test Following the ground training comes the evaluation: the Fit2Ride Test. Training is always aligned with your level and discipline. Ready to move on? You progress to ridden sessions. Not quite there yet? You continue with the training plan until you are. You decide for yourself when you feel ready for re-evaluation.
-
Step 4 — In the Saddle This is where all the pieces come together. Over a minimum of three sessions on horseback, you learn to translate your physical training from the ground into subtle body language in the saddle. Rising trot, pelvic movement in lateral work, absorbing impulsion through the upper body, symmetry — this is the moment where control transforms into a harmonious, flowing whole.

Tailored Training, Transparent Pricing
Fit2Ride offers flexible training options — self-directed or guided, at Westouter or at your own yard (from two riders).
The initial analysis costs €30. Follow-up training sessions, re-tests and ridden lessons are €30 per session.
Regular evaluation moments ensure measurable progress and give you clear insight into your physical development as a rider — because progress only becomes real when you can see it.
